Peat-Fest South-West 2025

Peat-Fest South-West 2025

Help us Crowdfund for The Mossy Carpet Finale

Over 72,000 people across the South-West region and further afield have  joined in to make this massive mossy artwork. The carpet is now more than 75 metres long, full of mossy tufts and pompoms, and still growing.

During this final stage of the project we're inviting communities to come along to a special event in Plymouth to roll out the full artwork and come together in celebration.

If we raise enough money then we'll spread further to include events in Dartmoor, Exeter, Cornwall and Bristol!

The Art and Energy Collective

Winners of the Sustainability First People's Choice Art Award!

The Art and Energy Collective is a not-for-profit group of artists, makers, thinkers and tinkerers who want to use our skills to respond to the climate emergency.

We specialise in designing educational mass participation artworks that help people connect with nature and take steps towards a brighter greener future.

We are interested in getting creative with energy systems, particularly those using natural energy, within all of life and through renewables.

The Art and Energy team (4 women) sit on a textile artwork made of colourful wool pompoms. The background includes more wooly pompoms and a moss themed banner with the words #BeMoreMoss

The Mossy Carpet

Join us as we journey deep into wild moss forests, summoning our creative powers and finding new ways to tackle the climate and ecological emergency.

  • Get creative and help make the epic mass participation artwork, The Mossy Carpet.

  • Donate to grow The Mossy Carpet, spreading the invitation further and reaching new audiences.

“We think creative processes can help us make sense of the world, connect with each other and become more resilient.”
