Developing Solar Artworks - May update

Our large solar artwork has been sandblasted… and we think that it looks fantastic! Sadly you’ll have to wait to see it properly - we’re on the look out for an opportunity to launch this new line of artworks. Do get in touch if you have suggestions for a time and place for this!

Here’s a sneak peek at one corner of the artwork - the whole design is based on our How to Bury the Giant project and looking at landscapes through an energy-lense. What energy sources can you spot?

Not only is the solar artwork pleasing to look at, it actually generates electricity. We took it back down to Penryn recently and found that it’s lost a tiny 4% in efficiency. We’re continuing to ask ourselves and others the question - What will you use your power for? In a practical sense this relates to the solar artwork, but we also enjoy the bigger question relating to the power that we each hold to bring about change.

We’d like to say a big thank you to Adam from Batteries and Solar for advising us on solar management system - Jenny’s now working on some ideas to use this energy creatively!

We’d like to say a huge thank you to Arts Council England who’s ‘Developing Your Creative Practice’ funding has given us an opportunity to reignite our passion for solar artworks.
