Dawn Breaks at Mudac: A Landmark Moment for Solar Art
The last month has been an epic and emotional time for the Art and Energy Collective. We are thrilled to share that Dawn Breaks, a solar artwork created by Chloe Uden, has been purchased by mudac – Musée de design et d'arts appliqués contemporains in Lausanne, Switzerland! The piece now joins their main collection and will be exhibited as part of Soleil·s. Solar Biennale 2, running from 21st March to 21st September 2025.
This is a hugely significant milestone for solar art and a proud moment for our collective. Seeing Dawn Breaks take its place in a world-renowned design and architecture museum highlights the growing recognition of solar-powered artworks as both technological innovation and cultural expression. The piece, originally created to explore the beauty and potential of solar energy, will now inspire new audiences in an exhibition dedicated to the sun’s creative and functional power.
We are incredibly excited to be part of this journey and cannot wait to connect with the other artists involved in the biennale, including Marjolijn Dijkman, Olafur Eliasson, and Sara Dean. The Soleil·s exhibition will bring together creators from around the world who, like us, are exploring the intersection of energy, sustainability, and artistic vision. It’s a wonderful opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from others, and celebrate the role of art in shaping a solar-powered future.
