Meet the Clean Streets project artist - Thijs Mostert

Art and Energy have commissioned local artists to create an energy themed sticker to decorate an electric vehicle feeder pillar box in Plymouth City centre for our Clean Streets project.

We are delighted to welcome Thijs Mostert to the project.

Thijs is project coordinator at The Greenhouse at The Plot and Co-director of Precious Plastics Plymouth Tavistock CIC. Thijs completed his Masters in Design in 2021 at the University of Plymouth, he has come from a healthcare background and has a special interest in sustainability and the circular economy. Thijs is passionate about creating opportunities for meaningful collaborations within the community and helping people to share knowledge and skills - come and find him at The Greenhouse in the Plot on Union Street to find out more and to get involved.

With his artwork on the feeder box, Thijs hopes to invite people to think about what sparks their call for climate action. We all come at this ‘wicked problem’ from different angles but only together we can work towards sustainable solutions. The interactive design invites you to scan the QR code and let him know about your passion when it comes to climate change and the solutions you see. After 31st January 2023 he will collect all of your answers and select which of those will be added to the feeder box.

Find out more about Thijs and his work via his Instagram profile.

Thijs’ design can be seen below and will shortly be on display on Osborne Place, Plymouth, PL1 2PJ.
