Mossy Carpet creativity in west Plymouth thanks to North Yard

Art and Energy’s Jenny has been busy working her way around various community groups and schools located in the west of Plymouth city, delivering engaging and free Mossy Carpet creative workshops.

Thanks to generous funding provided by North Yard Community Trust, we’ve been fortunate enough to collaborate with individuals of all ages from the diverse communities of Barne Barton, Keyham, Kings Tamerton, St Budeaux and Weston Mill, while also distributing copies of our new children’s book, The Mossy Story, along the way.

Highlights of the past few months include a wonderful experience working with the entire school community at Marine Academy Primary, as well as setting up The Mossy Carpet in Our Most Holy Redeemer Church in Keyham to work with enthusiastic children from Keyham Barton Primary School.

We’ve also been actively working alongside various community groups, including the excited Squirrels and engaging Scouts from the 1st Keyham (St Mark) Scout group. In addition, we have been hosting weekly drop-in sessions in collaboration with The Pioneer Project’s Cafe Connect, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere for all participants. Furthermore, we organized two engaging creative workshops within the welcoming and supportive environment of St Budeaux Library, encouraging creativity and connection among community members.

Still to come we have a day workshop with Marine Academy Secondary school, a second session with the Keyham Krafties groups at Keyham Green Places (25th March) and our final session at Cafe Connect on 9th April - all welcome, come and join us!
