The Mossy Carpet Crowdfunder celebrations 22/06/2024

On Saturday 22nd June the Art and Energy team came together to host a celebration of The Mossy Carpet and to thank everyone who has joined in since our successful Crowdfunding campaign. We wanted to hold a space where all 50 metres of The Mossy Carpet could be on display together to honour the finale of this work funded by the Crowdfunder.

We were invited to be part of The Big Green Trail, a Plymouth wide event with fun free activities for families and offered the perfect space for the day, outside The Box.

The Mossy Carpet was rolled out for people to take a (shoes off) walk along the artwork, on the day we loved watching people of all ages, strolling, running, dancing, doing handstands & cartwheels and lying down for a restful moment!

We wanted people to celebrate the tiny actions they are taking for a brighter greener future and the Tardigrade Telephone was on hand for visitors to leave a recording of their tiny actions to be incorporated into future displays of The Mossy Carpet.

As part of The Big Green Trail event, Climate Connections Plymouth asked residents to nominate their Local Climate Heroes. All the nominees were invited to walk on The Mossy Carpet and the winners crowned Local Climate Legends as part of the day.

Art and Energy were delighted to welcome hundreds of visitors and passers-by to walk on The Mossy Carpet on the day.

We’d like to say thank you to Fotonow CIC for these wonderful photos of our team and the Local Climate Heroes walking on The Mossy Carpet.
