Crowdfunder delivery : Plymouth

During our Crowdfunder last November, we were thrilled to receive +Funding from both SNG (Sovereign Network Group) and Plymouth City Council. These funds have helped us to develop and deliver opportunities to join in within the Plymouth area.

We started the year by reaching out to schools and community groups across the city, with the goal of reaching a diverse range of people with whom we could share our mossy message of hope.

This map shows the location of workshops we’ve delivered so far (yellow stars), and those in the diary (blue).

The Plymouth Community Builders, funded by NHS Devon in partnership with Plymouth City Council, are a friendly team who work to build greater connection, activity and collective support. Some work in particular geographical locations, others with communities of identity and interest across the city. They have been excited by the potential of Mossy Carpet to encourage conversation around climate and environment. They’ve helped to put us in touch with a wide range of groups that we might otherwise not have met.

Similarly, the TimeBank South West team have invited us to join them at locations across the city.

We’ve really enjoyed spending quality time with these groups, they’ve been so welcoming. For many it’s the first time they’ve come across this combination of collective creativity, nature and art. Every session’s different depending on the numbers, knowledge and interest in the room.

It’s heart-warming to hear about the small actions that individuals are incorporating into their daily lives, and so exciting to witness people sharing hints and tips about how they make these new ways of doing things more achievable.

When we work together we really can achieve change for good, both in terms of our social wellbeing and the environment within which we exist!

Would you like to join in?

The Mossy Carpet continues to grow, and we’d love you to be a part of it!

  • Check out our events page to come along and join in with an event or workshop.

  • Invite your friends, community, school etc. to join in… check out The Mossy Carpet page for more info.

22nd June at The Box

An important part of our Crowdfunder promise was to deliver a summer event in Plymouth to display the artwork so far and to bring together many of the people who have joined in. We’re excited to invite you to join us at The Box on the 22nd June for a day of celebration, performance and creativity. More details to come soon.

This will be part of the Plymouth City Council Big Green Trail event, so pop it in the diary now for a day of eco inspiration!
