Creativity and Culture for a brighter greener Plymouth

  • Barbican Theatre Castle St England, PL1 2NJ United Kingdom (map)

Are you an artist, creative, performer, producer, or cultural organisations working in Plymouth? Then this event's for you!

You're invited to a creative session sharing, exploring and celebrating ways we can respond to the Climate Emergency. This autumn we're holding 8 events across the city. Pop along to a session, encourage others to sign up too, and together we'll make a difference.

Plymouth Culture and Art and Energy are working together on a new 3-year project supporting the cultural sector in Plymouth to Get Creative for a Brighter Greener Future.

Check out https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/creating-a-brighter-greener-plymouth-2481609 or https://www.artandenergy.org/events for alternative dates.

We're excited by the amazing role that creativity and culture have to inspire a response to the Climate Emergency. We'll be exploring ways of starting and holding space for conversations about our climate and ecological responses with audiences/groups/communities. Join us as we share what we're already doing, explore possibilities, find ways to support one another, and dream for the future.

What will we be doing?

Whilst the format for each session will be similar, we look forward to the outcomes varying depending on venue and participants. Join in with 'The Mossy Carpet' and share experience of decarbonisation, eco-anxiety, and ways that we can use our creativity towards a net-zero, environmentally-rich Plymouth.

Who's it for?

All artists, creatives and cultural organisations in the Plymouth area are welcome to attend - all walks of creative life are most welcome!

The workshop is free of charge but booking is required.

We are sorry but this event is not suitable for children to attend.

A big thank you to Barbican Theatre for hosting this event.

Barbican Theatre is a dynamic charity started in 1980 with emerging artists, young people and the development of talent at the heart of all that they do. Their ambition has been to raise the standard of dance, theatre and music performance being produced by, with and for young people. They seek to challenge what traditional notions of theatre, music and dance are and liberate the imagination of young people to create fresh and exciting work that comes from new and unusual voices – voices that are often unheard.
