News from Aviemore and the IUCN UK Peatland Conference

Art and Energy’s Naomi has caught the train all the way to Aviemore for this year’s IUCN UK Peatland Programme Conference.

Naomi’s there with several metres of The Mossy Carpet and reaching out and sharing our work with peatland specialists from all over the U.K.

The Art and Energy stand was on display at the Peatland exhibition and cinema event held during the conference on its first evening. Naomi was on hand to offer engaging, moss-inspired creative activities with The Mossy Carpet, inviting attendees to explore their artistic sides while connecting with peatlands.

The second day of the conference offered site visits to various locations on The Cairngorms and Naomi took part in a guided visit to the Allargue Estate where high above a local ski resort there are inspiring peatland restoration experiments using blankets made of natural fibres such as coir and wool.

Look out for more updates from Naomi on our social media channels and search #peatconf24 for updates from wider participants at the conference.
